Trashless Toronto – Is it possible to be garbage free?

No More Garbage

No More Garbage, a blog and life-style experiment about living trash free in Toronto has been getting some press lately. Two Toronto based artists have been trying to rid themselves of the nightmare of packaging and consumer waste for the past couple of years. This on-again off-again experiment has created a pretty cool story and very entertaining blog. The couple helps people realize that trash can be avoided. These guys take it to the extreme, but they help show that if people only made small changes in their purchasing habits they could dramatically reduce their garbage.

Try some of these simple solutions, it’s not brain-science it’s just better-living:
buy local, buy bulk, carry your own shopping bags, compost, recycle

The image above is a photo I took of a recent article in the Urbanite magazine, a free Baltimore publication that we receive at our home in Portland, Maine via the US postal system each month. The Urbanite always covers at least one thing I find interesting each month and flipping thru the July issue this weekend was no exception, Sally and I have these guys in our blogroll and have been reading about their experiment for some time now.
