Poster Culture: Providence Revisited

August 21st, 2007 · by Sally · No Comments · Cities, Field Trips, Public Art

A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about a series of posters on transformer boxes along Broadway in Providence (here). You might have noticed in the picture that the face of the main figure had already been slightly defaced. Last time I was in town, I noticed that someone (the same artist? another artist?) had added to the original poster, adding a new face, as well as a few characters in the background. These of course, were also defaced before I managed to get a picture. But I thought it was pretty neat to see the way this image is evolving.

Another update from the streets of Providence, the city finally removed the redundant (ugly) trash cans next to the Steelyard’s cans in Olneyville Square.
