Blue Hill Fair held during the Labor Day weekend was a nice treat to the start our wedding madness preparation week. There is something special about a good old agriculture fair - the livestock, the food, the people, the weather, everything makes for an exciting day in the north country.
One of the Blue Hill Fair features is the Northeast U.S. Sheep Dog Trials, which was my first and I am happy to say will not be my last. Other sporting good times at the fair were the water pistol races that Lucy and Sally got involved in, and the fresh made lemonade, pulled pork and crab rolls, yum.
Other must attend Maine Fairs are the Common Ground Fair in Unity, Maine sponsored by MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association) held September 21-23, and my favorite the Fryeburg Fair an eight day agriculture fair where kids miss school to strut there 4-h stuff and the total attendance can reach 200,000.
See You At The Fairs!!!
