The City of Sculpture organization placed 38 art-benches around the City this summer as part of the County Seat Project, funded by individual donations and business sponsorships. After the summer, 25 of the benches will remain with the sponsors and the other 13 will be auctioned at a fundraiser. The benches are made from all sorts of materials including everything from sculpted limestone, toilets, laminated wood and concrete, to a pair of living trees (below are some pictures of the artists and their benches, including Sally’s Aunt Nanci Lanni and her “Trilobench”). After a visit to Hamilton it is pretty easy to see why they call it City of Sculpture! Check out the other benches HERE.
