
While we were in Baltimore last weekend for Bill’s birthday party we were able to schedule a last minute tour with organizers of Community Greens, a back alley park project. Sally will post more about Community Greens later. I posted these photos because one of Bill’s early projects involved the renovation of row-homes up the street from the old ship yard repair docks. Part of the project included the renovation of the historic Sailors Union Church and the creation of Baltimore’s first back alley park program. We were also told about possible stories of weekend and night time, permitless renovation projects which sometime left masonry window openings 6-8 inches off. Opps, hard to see but look at the top floor windows.
